Typically, tryouts are held in the first or second week of September and the season runs from early October through the end of February. As of the 2019-2020 season, there is no location for players to store their gear. It is currently the individual responsibility of prospects and current players to store their gear before and throughout the season. Dates for tryouts will be posted on the front page of the website as soon as they become available.

Everyone who is a full-time student at the University of Minnesota is welcome to tryout for the team.  Most home games are played at 3M @ Mariucci Arena or Ridder Arena, both of which are on campus. Road trips can be as far as Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Iowa. For the 2020-2021 season, there are planned trips to Duluth, Winona, St. Cloud, and Grand Forks, (ND).  We are also a member of the Western Collegiate Club Hockey Association.  The WCCHA consists of two different divisions; the Northwest and Southeast. Recruiting:

The University of Minnesota Men's Club Hockey Team competes as a part of the ACHA Division II level. At the beginning of each season, we host open tryouts at 3M @ Mariucci Arena. We do not recruit players or guarantee spots for incoming freshmen or transfers before tryouts. Selection for the team is solely based on the tryout. If your performance is deserving during the tryout, then a spot awaits you here on the Club. For any additional questions regarding the team or tryouts, use the "Contact" tab above.

Facilities:

All home games are played at 3M @ Mariucci Arena or Ridder Arena located on the University of Minnesota campus. 3M @ Mariucci is home to the University's NCAA Division I men's hockey team, as well as intramural sports and university classes.  Capacity is around 10,000 people. Ridder Arena is home to the University's NCAA Division I Women's Hockey team, with a capacity of 3,500. 3M @ Mariucci is an Olympic Sheet; Ridder is regulation NHL size. Both facilities are located on campus, mere blocks away from hotels and restaurants. Downtown Minneapolis is a close 5 minute drive from the arenas.
